A Lancaster woman who tried taking off her clothes during her arrest in Dover Township on Tuesday later pulled out the hair of a UPMC Memorial lab technician, according to charging documents.
Danielle Altomonte, 28, of the first block of Ramsgate Lane, faces numerous charges, including aggravated assault, criminal mischief, DUI and public drunkenness.
District Judge David C. Eshbach denied Altomonte bail, citing a section of the Pennsylvania Constitution, which guarantees bail unless the public’s safety is at risk.
Altomonte’s preliminary hearing before Eshbach is scheduled for July 6, according to online court dockets.
There was no photo of Altomonte at York County Prison because of her uncooperative behavior, the prison said.
Charging documents provide details
About 2:45 a.m. on Tuesday, a Northern York County Regional Police officer was parked near the intersection of Carlisle and Pine roads in Dover Township when a speeding red Nissan Altima passed him.
When he pulled over the Nissan, the driver, later identified as Altomonte, got out and tried to get into the backseat of his cruiser.
The officer told Altomonte to get back in her car, but she walked past the Nissan and into the middle of the road while taking off her shirt.
As the officer handcuffed Altomonte, he asked if she had anything illegal on her, to which she replied, “Actually I don’t today, I love smoking weed.”
She then fell to the ground and the officer had to drag her off the road so that she was not struck by another vehicle.
Altomonte tried to pull away from the officer as he walked her back to his cruiser and then started pulling down her pants, twerking and making lewd comments.
For the uninitiated, twerking is when an individual repeatedly gyrates their buttocks, typically in a doubled-over position.
She also started talking to someone named “Quinn” who was not there.
As her Miranda Rights were read, Altomonte began licking the bars on the window of the officer’s cruiser.
During their investigation, police smelled burned marijuana and found small pieces of marijuana in the car’s center console. In addition, Altomonte’s pupils were dilated, leading police to believe she was under the influence of a controlled substance.
After all of that, Altomonte tried to kick the windows of the police cruiser.
At UPMC Memorial
Police took Altomonte to UPMC Memorial after she agreed to have her blood drawn for a blood-alcohol content test. But while in a room, Altomonte threw one of the nurse’s stands to the ground, scattering equipment on the floor and damaging a printer.
As police, security and a lab technician were picking up the items, Altomonte grabbed lab technician Lennia Vega’s hair and “ripped it out of her pony tail,” documents state.
Despite suffering a headache from the alleged assault, Vega kept her composure and was able to draw blood from Altomonte’s arm.
